Hi all summertime can be a bit quite for line dances but we did an old dance called Clickety Clack I love this dance because it's quick and the music is fabulous. Which goes to show just because a dance Isn't new it's not a good dance see the dance bellow. 

And moving right up to date with a nice dance called First Fool In Line there is a walk-through for this but the audio is missing but the steps are all there and the dance has music, it an easy dance to learn abut again really nice music. We have the Irish type waltz's I Can't Unlove You and Starting To Night , all the waltz's are really nice dances when you know the steps and restarts but that's all part of modern Line Dancing. I am aware of the time this page might load this is why I can't list all the dances we do in a night, so I try to show the news dances or older dance we have looked at again. I have discover if you load the blog through FaceBook it does load quicker.

New Music To Old Dances

New Music To Old Dances

This week’s blog is about fitting a dance to the music, not the music to the dance.

As I have been going to social nights with live bands or singers, some of them don't sing the songs to the latest line dance hit. So you might have to think outside the box, listen to the music and think of a dance that would fit the song, here I have made up or found some examples. The first is one I have overlaid the track to a demo we made at Country Roots the dance is One Step Forward Two Steps Back the music is Green Door. While the timing isn't spot on its near enough to give you the Idea, the second dance is Love Letter the dance should be done the Strawberry Wine this is the same dance to Elvis's Love Letter a completely different piece of music by it fits have a look for yourself.   

  
As you can see all pieces of music fits the dance, so when you're next in somewhere sit listen to the music have a think what would fit this song?

Summer Time Is Here And We Have Two New  Dances That Are Summer Sizzler's 

Hello and welcome to Country Roots, as I said at the start of this page summer is here and even if the weather isn't that good. We have two new dances for you. The first is called Rock and Roll Music
Rachael McEnane 44 count 2 wall, this is a dance to wake you up, it's good old rock and roll, OK It's not Country But the music is great and the dance fit the song nicely.

The second dance is called Dear Friend  a 56 count  by Kate Sala I love the music to this dance, this is a dance that from the first 8 beats of the song you know you will like the dance.
