New Dance Old Dance

New Dance Old Dance?

I will talk about this weeks class in a minute, but first I would like to show our member tour web site. In this day and age it is important to have an online present in any club, group, or organization. We have done well in this area. I was looking for research matiral for our latest quiz and I typed in Rob Fowler, and our web site http://countryrootsrhyl.blogspot.co.uk/ came second in the page ranking see picture below.
This is because we are active on the internet and this is why we have followers from all over the world and the more times we use our own web site the more we get noticed, and our twitter address  is @countryrootrhyl please if you have a Twitter account log on and follow us because the more followers we have the high we go up the rankings. I will thank you all in advance for you help in pushing your club higher into the  world of the internet.

New and Old Dances

A Revision Night

We Had A Revision Night

The first thing I have to say on our blog is a big thank to Gaynor Hulse, (See Right) because Gaynor bravely agreed to take the class for one night. And she was very good, the night was a one of the times when we revisited some of the older dances and some slightly newer dances as well. Gaynor did some teaching she walked though two dances the first was High Cotton ( see link below) and the other one was Margaret Gough's own dance Drunk At The Time  ( see link below). The night when well we did some very very old dances, but like me I came into Line Dancing long after these dances were first written, I just follow the others and learn a dance I didn't know before.

Margaret Gough's New Dance

I can report that Margaret's newly released dance Drunk At The Time  is doing really well I have sent the dance to all the mayor line dance site Copperkob had it as one of the dances on the side of the page as one of the best new dances. Line Dance Newsletter is a big international organization and that had publish the dance as well so we just keep promoting the dance where we can.

So Many Dances Lost?

So Many Dances Lost?

I have been unwell for about a month or may be six weeks, I couldn't go to dance class, I thought that's OK I can catch up when I come back. Let me tell if anyone has 4 weeks off from line dancing they will struggle to catch up with the dances they have missed.

Most of all Ria Vos

Eighteen Lonely months Rep Ghazali- Meaney

Loving you in Mexico wil Bos

North of Heaven Benny Ray

Love is Alive Gaye Teather
I will have my work cut out over the next few weeks trying to learn these dances and new ones that come out each week.We have had this discussion before on this blog I know, but this highlights just how crazy the line dance seen really is, links to the dances will be lower down the page.

What is all this about are the choreographers so brain dead they can't find another title this sort of thing drives me mad what is wrong with giving it a slightly different name?

Talking of new dance's

Margaret Gough the owner and our instructor for the club has created her own dance called         Drunk At The Time  it's a nice country western song to go with it, The Last Cowboy by Toby Keith.
now we need to promote it I want all our members to download it from Yippe. when it goes live I will tell you, and as more and more website look at this dance it could do really well. Please see first link YouTube below.
